What is City Fibre Flex?

At boxx we are pleased to bring you two fantastic new fibre Ethernet products, powered by CityFibre. CityFibre has been rolling out their fibre-only network for the past few years, targeting towns and cities where other major providers are less prominent, and they now offer fantastic value products.

Fibre Flex from boxx is a highly cost-effective form of full fibre Dedicated Internet Access connectivity for businesses looking to balance exceptionally high speed with price while retaining critical reliability.

Fibre Flex has a guaranteed symmetrical bandwidth of 200Mbps and can burst up to a peak of 1Gbps. This is an ideal product for businesses that want to maintain an exceptionally fast connection and accommodate occasional need for more bandwidth at no extra cost.

Having a pure fibre connection directly into the business premises gives access to gigabit-capable speeds vastly outperforming comparably priced services, such as copper EFM or partly-fibre EoFTTC/GEA connections. Full fibre services are also less susceptible to the effects of bad weather, experience fewer incidences of theft and are unaffected by electrical interference.

The access technology works by using a shared fibre tail that is split. The pure fibre connection is continued to no more than 8 business customer premises, from a node close to the end customer premises. The limited number of customers who share the fibre tail and network port delivers a consistently reliable bandwidth, significantly above 200Mbps, even when all connections are being used simultaneously at their maximum.

Key Features:

  • Guaranteed dedicated 200Mb symmetrical bandwidth.
  • No need to request bandwidth upgrades to use above 200Mbps.
  • Burst up to 1Gbps whenever you need to, at no extra cost.
  • Growing availability in UK cities.
